Position


The newly created role of Bakery Production and Compliance Manager, due to the expansion of baking capacity, will see you responsible for overseeing and managing the bakehouse and warehouse under the guidance of the Managing Director and in conjunction with the Bakehouse Supervisor. This role entails planning, coordinating, and overseeing weekly operations to ensure the timely delivery of quality products within budget while maintaining and improving the efficiency of the bakery.

Starting time: 6.30 am (no more Bakers/Chef hours)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:


  • Planning and overseeing weekly production schedules to meet customer demand in conjunction with the Bakehouse Supervisor

  • Participating in “hands-on” baking, wrapping and cleaning

  • Developing new product lines that align with market trends and customer needs

  • Ordering ingredients and packaging

  • Managing the computerised inventory system

  • Maintaining and improving HACCP and WHS systems

  • Ensuring all products meet strict food regulations, quality and safety guidelines

  • Overseeing staff rosters, ensuring optimal staffing levels.

  • Providing leadership fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment

  • Training of staff as required


Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have qualifications or experience as a Baker and/or Chef with prior experience as a supervisor/manager in food manufacturing. This day-to-day operational role will see you utilising your “hands-on” skills and an ability to train and share knowledge to staff. You will possess a deep understanding of HACCP, a keen eye for process improvement and the ability to develop new product lines


  • Experience managing a team and production schedules

  • Proficient computer skills, including inventory management software

  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
