About the Position

The Adelaide Hills Council area is a fantastic place to live, work, and explore. Conveniently located with easy access from the eastern and southeastern suburbs, living and working in the Hills offers a great alternative to the daily commute into the CBD.


The Adelaide Hills Council is currently seeking a Business Analyst (BA) for a 3-year contract to join the team at the Stirling Office. As the Business Analyst, you will play a key role in various business analysis, project management, system development, change management, and documentation activities.


Reporting to the Team Leader of Information Systems, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with departments to gather and define business requirements

  • Analysing and documenting business processes, systems, and workflows

  • Identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements

  • Creating clear and detailed documentation for business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows

  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation throughout the project lifecycle

  • Liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams

  • Developing test plans

  • Proposing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Working closely with project teams to facilitate system changes at all levels


Skills and Experience


To succeed in this role, you must possess qualifications in Information Technology or a related field or have substantial experience at a senior level. You should be comfortable managing internal relationships and providing ongoing support within a complex ICT environment throughout its lifecycle.


Additional skills include:

  • Experience creating detailed documentation, including process maps and flowcharts

  • Ability to analyse data, identify opportunities, and implement effective solutions

  • Understanding of project and change management principles and methodologies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience organising and facilitating workshops and presentations

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a positive, accountable team environment
