About the Position
A well-established national corporation is seeking to appoint an Compliance Assistant Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This opportunity has arisen due to a recent acquisition, and the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate compliance and financial reporting.
With head office in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs and branches nationwide, this role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic, collaborative finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger
Reviewing financial statements
Preparing quarterly GST and BAS statements
Preparation of annual income tax returns
Compiling documentation for external audits
Liaising with clients and contractors
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring experience from an accounting practice, including the preparation of tax returns, BAS/IAS, and a sound understanding of accounts to trial balance. Success in this role will be supported by a keen eye for detail, accuracy, sound problem-solving skills, effective time management, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Accounting tertiary-level qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient and confident in Excel
Ability to work independently and within a team
