About the Position

Join a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to supporting children, young people, and families through compassionate care, delivering meaningful person-centred services, and achieving positive outcomes within the community. Due to an internal promotion, this not-for-profit organisation is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to deliver effective human resources initiatives and services across the organisation.


In this role, you will provide expert advice and support to managers and employees across a broad range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, investigations and talent development.


Reporting to the Executive Manager HR, you will be responsible for

  • Provide advice and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances, and workplace issues.

  • Conduct HR investigations and make recommendations for improvements and outcomes.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development activities.

  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Child Protection requirements.

  • Monitor legislative changes and assist with policy reviews and compliance audits.

  • Partner with managers to provide guidance on people management and employee relations matters.

  • Deliver HR training and communicate policy updates across the organisation.

  • Maintain accurate HR records and respond to employee enquiries in a timely manner.


Experience & Skills


In this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management and have a sound understanding of employee relations, employment legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements. You will be a practical and strategic thinker who can identify issues, solve problems, and provide effective recommendations while fostering a positive workplace culture.


  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.

  • Sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in a changing environment.

  • Experience managing sensitive and confidential information.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with unions and employee representatives to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Experience working within the SCHCDS Award 2010 or a similar regulated environment.

  • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
