About the Position

A large food manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work alongside the Production and Engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, process efficiency, and ongoing improvements.


This is a full-time position based in the Northern Suburbs with standard hours Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and offers some flexibility.


As the Maintenance Technician, your primary objective will be to optimise production operations through analysis, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of high-quality products to retail customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all machine maintenance and repair related activities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative maintenance programs

  • Accurately document all maintenance activities within the maintenance management system

  • Analyse manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions

  • Enhance equipment performance and addressing production bottlenecks

  • Oversee and optimise the spare parts inventory to support maintenance

  • Manage external contractors

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate across engineering and quality teams to achieve production goals

  • Support the addition of new technologies into the manufacturing process

About You:


To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and reliable individual who enjoys being “hands-on” and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will have a strong mechanical background, either as a qualified Fitter & Turner or with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, complemented by a passion for process improvement and a commitment to maximising equipment uptime.


  • Strong problem-solving ability with high attention to detail

  • A positive, team-oriented approach with strong time management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement

  • Competency in using Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook)
