About the Position
A large food manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work alongside the Production and Engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, process efficiency, and ongoing improvements.
This is a full-time position based in the Northern Suburbs with standard hours Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and offers some flexibility.
As the Maintenance Technician, your primary objective will be to optimise production operations through analysis, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of high-quality products to retail customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate all machine maintenance and repair related activities
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative maintenance programs
Accurately document all maintenance activities within the maintenance management system
Analyse manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
Enhance equipment performance and addressing production bottlenecks
Oversee and optimise the spare parts inventory to support maintenance
Manage external contractors
Drive quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate across engineering and quality teams to achieve production goals
Support the addition of new technologies into the manufacturing process
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and reliable individual who enjoys being “hands-on” and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will have a strong mechanical background, either as a qualified Fitter & Turner or with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, complemented by a passion for process improvement and a commitment to maximising equipment uptime.
Strong problem-solving ability with high attention to detail
A positive, team-oriented approach with strong time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
Competency in using Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook)
