Mechanical Maintenance Technician

A proud local family business situated in the scenic Adelaide Hills is seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Technician. You will have experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of all plant equipment on site. This position focuses on preventative maintenance programs and addressing breakdowns with strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

You will be working on complex machinery, utilising mechanical, pneumatic, and fluid power principles in preventative maintenance and fixing breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for:

• Attending to critical equipment breakdowns and troubleshooting

• Performing preventative maintenance

• Daily prioritisation of tasks and actions

• Supporting site maintenance programs and overseeing essential services such as hot water temperature, air supply, electrical services, refrigeration, and irrigation

• Managing stock of critical spare parts and ensuring timely replenishment

• Conducting diagnostics, preparing technical reports, and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems with both digital and analogue controls

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A completed boiler maker apprenticeship

• Experience with fabrication

• Great problem-solving skills
