Trade Retail Lead

Known for building strong relationships with local tradies and DIY customers alike, Mitre 10 Barrow & Bench is a trusted name in the community.

Mitre 10 is currently seeking a Trade Retail Lead to join the team and take the lead in driving store performance, customer experience, and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a leadership position while working closely with a tight-knit and experienced team.

Responsibilities  

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming in-store experience

• Build strong relationships with regular trade clients

• Lead, supervise, and delegate tasks to team members effectively

• Manage retail and trade sales across building materials

• Place orders, track incoming deliveries, and confirm stock on arrival

• Maintain a good understanding of market pricing and prepare accurate customer quotes

• Assist with organising small-scale customer deliveries

• Oversee store presentation in the “Building Area”

Skills and Experience

Ideally, you will have a trade background or strong DIY experience, allowing you to effectively support both trade and retail customers. This role offers a hands-on opportunity while also leading the team to deliver on Mitre 10’s goals.

• Passion for delivering excellent customer service

• Ability to lead, motivate and delegate a team

• Willingness to learn, grow and develop with the store

• Solid understanding of stock control, quoting, and delivery coordination

• Possess good computer literacy - Word, Excel, and Point of Sale

• Forklift Licence (Desirable)

• Valid Police Check (or willing to obtain)
