Due to continued growth across Australia, Whittles is seeking a full-time Assistant Accountant – Compliance and Reporting to join its expanding national accounting team. This role plays an important part in supporting managed corporations nationwide by delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and ensuring compliance obligations are met.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the National Accounting Manager, your responsibilities will include:

General ledger maintenance and reconciliations
Reviewing financial statements
Preparing quarterly GST and BAS for managed strata entities
Preparing annual income tax returns
Compiling documentation for auditor purposes
Common Property reporting
Liaise with clients and contractors

Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring hands-on experience in preparing GST and BAS, completing tax returns and performing general ledger reconciliations. As you will be supporting managed corporations across Australia, you will be well organised, solution-focused and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
A tertiary qualification in Accounting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence and proficiency in Excel
The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
