About the Position
Catholic Education South Australia provides education in faith-inspired schools, with 9,000 staff and over 52,000 students across 101 Catholic schools, committed to educational excellence and providing quality learning from early years to Year 12.
Following recent organisational changes, Catholic Education South Australia is looking for a Management Accountant to help shape the financial performance and reporting across its school network. This is a chance to play a key role in supporting informed decision-making across a vibrant and diverse education community.
This is your opportunity to drive meaningful change across South Australia's Catholic Education system. As a key member of the finance team, you will assess data to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities, uncover trends, and share insights that support informed decision-making for one of the SA’s most significant education communities.
Your work will influence everything from system-wide strategy to individual school operations. From identifying savings to helping schools shape their budgets and improve reporting, you’ll be part of something that matters.
Responsibilities
Deliver school-based and system-wide financial management reports, including quarterly and year-end performance reviews and treasury updates.
Analyse financial and operational data to spot trends, risks, and performance issues against budget and KPIs.
Investigate variances in school/system performance to identify insights and opportunities for improvement.
Perform cost analysis to uncover savings and support strategic planning.
Contribute to financial modelling for new initiatives and school programs.
Assist schools with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
Maintain and publish financial guidance documents and updates.
Experience and Skills
To be successful, you will be a reliable and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys supporting others with clear, accurate financial information. Whether you’re already qualified (CA/CPA) or working towards, you will have a passion for using data and information to make a difference.
Other
Previous experience preparing and analysing month-end and year-end reports
Solid understanding of accounting principles and reporting
Confident using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
A keen eye for detail and clear communication skills
A current driver's licence and the ability to meet clearance requirements, including a Working with Children Check (WWC).
